In a show of strong support for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Dr. Aighodalo, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State joined party leaders and supporters in Benin City for the grand finale of the PDP governorship campaign.
Addressing the crowd in Edo State, Governor Fintiri praised the state’s rich history as a “cradle of civilization and intellectualism” and urged the people to stand firm in their pursuit of good governance.
“I encouraged the people, reminding them that they were on the right track and should never settle for less,” Governor Fintiri said.
He called on the people of Edo to turn out in large numbers on September 21, 2024, to vote for Dr. Aighodalo, stressing the importance of continuing the progress achieved under the leadership of Governor Godwin Obaseki. Governor Fintiri also warned against any form of intimidation that could derail the electoral process.
“Let us consolidate the gains already achieved by Governor Obaseki and not give in to intimidation,” Fintiri urged.
With just days to go before the election, the PDP is ramping up efforts to secure victory in Edo State. The grand finale of the campaign drew a large crowd of supporters, signaling strong momentum behind Dr. Aighodalo’s candidacy.
The governorship election is expected to be a closely watched contest, with political observers pointing to the ongoing support from top party figures as a key factor in Dr. Aighodalo’s prospects for success.
